METHOD OF PARTICIPATION/HOW TO RECEIVE CREDIT
TARGET AUDIENCE
This activity is intended for genetic counselors, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team.
STATEMENT OF NEED
Given the large number of lysosomal storage disorders (LSDs), it is unlikely that an individual disorder can be recognized immediately upon presentation, thereby delaying a critical diagnosis. It is critical that genetic counselors, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team become conversant with the LSDs in general and the clinical challenges and implications associated with them so that they can contribute to earlier identification and intervention in an incurable, but manageable disease if identified in a timely fashion. This need is particularly underscored given that almost 60% of genetic counselors are involved with direct patient care.
ACCREDITATION STATEMENT
The France Foundation is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
