Beyond Preeclampsia: Recognizing and Responding to Rare Complications

Array

Activity Info

Complement-mediated disorders that surface during pregnancy or the postpartum period can be mistaken for other disorders. Therefore, these disorders are underdiagnosed, resulting in high morbidity and mortality rates for persons who are pregnant and infants.

This interactive module will review a patient case with hemolysis, elevated liver enzymes, and low platelet count (HELLP) syndrome, demonstrating the challenges in differentiating it from other thrombotic microangiopathies and the potential role of complement inhibition therapy.

CME/CE Information is available in the activity.
